Hopewell Culture
in 2015, the New Initiatives Group of the Instructional Technology Council (ITC), an affiliated council of the American Association of Community Colleges, in partnership with the U.S. National Park Service and Internet2’s U.S. Unified Community Anchor Network (US UCAN) Program accepted my submission into their pilot endeavor to integrate learning activities from the National Park Service (NPS) into online activities or courses. I chose the Hopewell Mounds Cultural Heritage site in Ohio to work with and integrate into my online classrooms. Through a series of interviews, visits and presentations, I added elements of the NPS and Hopewell Culture National Historical Park into classes on Program Evaluation and Law and Public Policy.
I continue to follow their efforts to gain World Heritage Site designation.
